Like the Native Americans feeling offended by the Chief Wahoo logo, the Crips are offended by the Reds logo.
It’s 2018 and we are being as inclusive and neutral as possible. So why aren’t the Reds being held accountable for this exclusion? Cincinnati is known to be exclusively Bloods. But, as always there is a minority whose voice is not heard.
The Crips and Bloods have been at war for a long time and who is to say that this wouldn’t solve the problem? Change the Reds logo and team name to something more inclusive, it is all the Crips really want. For too long they feel like they have been attacked by the organization.
They held a rally today at the Cincinnati Zoo where they discussed their feelings. Long time Crip, Lil E was quoted saying, “We love baseball and we love Cincinnati, why can’t a compromise be made to make the teams name more inclusive?” I have to say I agree with Lil E on this one. It’s the only right thing to do.
Cincinnati Reds, the ball is in your field. Representatives from each gang have met and are willing to work out a deal. Your move, Reds.Follow @beertalkwileyp
