TIGER IS BACK!!!

Ladies and gentlemen the man, the myth, the legend… THE GOAT is back! After a long awaited return Tiger inserted himself into the Hero World Challenge (His Tournament) with a field total of 18 of the worlds best golfers and no cut. But regardless right from the very beginning it was an electric factory from Tiger. He looked comfortable and in complete control of his swing. If you know Tiger at all he has impeccable work ethic and whatever swing he chooses he makes it his own and works at until his hands bleed.

Round one he showed the rust but that was to be expected. His main strength right from the first tee was his driver and he was ripping 300+ every drive with consistent ball speed of 179-180. But not to be over looked his putter got hot as well and at one point through 9 holes had 9 putts very impressive. The main thing Tiger needs to work on his short game missed some key chips that could taken the round to the next level but that’s golf. And for his first competitive round in 301 days he fires off a round one 3 under 69.

Round two+three he found that groove we have been so accustomed to seeing in the past. Was absolutely firing darts and driving greens and late into round two he was leading the tournament but ended up tied for 3rd and a  -4 68 at the end of round two. Round  three moving day did not go as planned for Tiger but it was extremely windy. Putts just weren’t falling and approach shots were short or way long and at the end of the day didn’t plummet down the leaderboard but ended tied for 9th +3 75 on the day.

Round four is really how Tiger had hoped Round three would have gone. He had the distance control right out of the gate and the short game had come back to him. 3 birdies and an eagle on the front nine which moved him up the leaderboard and we all were thinking… hoping we were going to see a vintage Sunday Tiger charge. But the back nine brought him back down to earth starting hole 10 off with a double bogey and ended with 3 birdies, 2 bogeys and the double on 10. So Tiger unfortunately did not end up with but respectable finish tied for 9th and a final round -4 68.

We have to admit Tiger is still good for the game of golf the ratings were up and social media was blowing up over just seeing him compete again even my 90 year old grandmother was ecstatic he was back. This tournament had a lot of ups and downs for Tiger and showed what he needs to work on. My prediction for the year is Tiger gets himself 3 wins and one of them is a Major!

Tis the season it’s GOAT szn
